Happy Chuseok everyone! Chuseok (추석) is a harvest festival in South Korea. As it is one of the most important celebrations, it is also a four-day holiday in South Korea. During Chuseok, Korean people usually visit their family and enjoy a good time together.

This year, Chuseok was on September 27th. Since there is a Korean community and many Korean associations in Paris, they organized an event last saturday!

The event took place at the "Jardin d'acclimatation", which is a nice park with a small Korean garden. It really feels like you are in South Korea!

During the event, people could enjoy Korean food such as tteokbokki (떡볶이), pajeon (파전), boongeoppang (붕어빵), I was so happy to have those again, street food is the best ;)

They also prepared many activities like the traditional Korean games you play during chuseok, maedeup (매듭) - Korean knots - confection (kinda tricky!), a singing contest, a hanbok contest... There was also a Korean calligrapher, she wrote my name in Korean! It's so pretty, I would love to learn how to do this! You can see the process in the video at the end of this article.

My name written by the Korean calligrapher and the maedeup (Korean knot) I made :)

This days was pretty fun, I hope they will hold more events like this one! I recorded some food making and the Korean calligraphy process, you can check it in the video below :)

What did you do for Chuseok? Does your country also hold this event? :)

추석 잘 보내세요!
